Random Things I Find Annoying

Have you ever been living your life like a normal human being and noticed something annoying? Like something small that makes you say, "Well that's annoying," and then promptly forget about it? This happens to me all the time, to the point where I've started writing them down. So, here is a compiled list of random stuff I find annoying that maybe you can relate to.

  • Accidentally using hand lotion as soap.
  • Being halfway through showering and realizing you ran out of conditioner.
  • Going to bed with a perfectly made bed, and waking up with the sheets all over your floor.
  • Painting your nails perfectly just to smudge them trying to see if they're dry.
  • Missing one spot when shaving.
  • Putting down your phone just to forget where you put it.
  • Going to drink a glass of milk and there's none left.
  • Or worse, there's only two drops of milk left.
  • Getting sprayed by the sink.
  • Accidentally putting in your school locker combination in your gym lock when you're in a rush. Cause of course they're not the same combination. That would be too easy!
  • Forgetting to turn off your lights when you leave the house.
  • When you think it's Friday, and then you realize it's Thursday.
  • When you have a song stuck in your head, except you don't know what it is.
  • When your phone goes from 80% to 20% in all of two seconds.
  • When your phone dies when it has 30% battery left.
  • When what you want to wear isn't clean.
  • When you use the wrong where.
  • Or right.
  • Or too.
  • When you go to correct someone's grammar and you're the one who's wrong.
  • When you can't remember how to spell receive.
  • Ninja-ing. AKA when someone reads your text but doesn't respond. I'm so guilty of this.
  • When your internet crashes and you have homework to do.
  • And then you tell your teacher that your internet crashed, and they're all like "That's no excuse."
  • And just homework in general.
  • Cute DIY ideas gone horribly wrong.

I hope you can relate to some of these annoying things. It's really satisfying when someone else agrees with something you think is annoying.

My Thoughts on Imaginary Numbers

Before you get all freaked out, I'm not going to be teaching you math. I'll just be ranting about it.

Why do imaginary numbers aka i exist? I am currently in Algebra II and I don't understand the point of them. Like, if you have the square root of a negative number, it doesn't have a solution. I get that. It's imaginary. It doesn't exist. So then what's the point of continuing to solve it? THE ANSWER DOESN'T EXIST. WHAT IS THE BENEFIT OF SOLVING AND GETTING SOME IMAGINARY SOLUTION? IT DOESN'T EXIST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gah!!!!!!

What. Is. The. Point. Of. i. It's imaginary. It doesn't exist. Is there some real-world application to imaginary numbers or are they just annoying things we have to deal with? Cause we haven't used them in a real-world application kind of way. And when I ask my teacher, he just says they're important in calculus. Okay, then what is that calculus used for? I don't understand how imaginary numbers can have a real purpose in the world when they don't exist. They. Aren't. Real. I just don't get it.

It's not that I don't get how to solve imaginary solutions, it's just that I don't get why i exists in the first place. And if there is some reason they do exist, then I just haven't learned it yet. But for now, math sucks.
Think of the kittens, think of the kittens.

I feel better now.

It's Back to School Time!

I'M SORRY IT'S BEEN LIKE FOREVER AND EVER SINCE MY LAST POST BUT I'VE JUST BEEN SO BUSY! And lazy. And busy. But mostly lazy.

You know what angers me about going back to school? I've known the classes I'm in since mid-July and I've known which teachers I have since the beginning of August. Yet, my teachers decided not to give me their supply list till the first the day of school. >:(

Speaking of school, I start this week. And I'm actually really nervous for freshman year. High school here I come!

No but seriously. I'm usually always ready to go back to school. My schedule is normally memorized 15 minutes after I get it, and I've normally mapped out all my classes by the beginning of August. By the middle of August, my locker is organized and decorated.

This year? I can't tell you what my locker is, yet alone where it is.

It's true that since I'm a freshman I have no idea where anything is and it's not fair to expect me to know where my locker is. Except I went to this thingy where a senior showed me around to all my classes and had me open my locker. I could open it, thank god, but two seconds after I left it, I forgot where it was. Good job me!

I asked some of my high school friends where my locker is. They told me I'm in one of the senior hallways. Greaaaaaaaaat. (Total sarcasm there for those who didn't realize that.) It's also nowhere near any of my classes. Which I also don't know where they are either. This year is going to be great! suck.

My first day of school is a half day because it's freshman orientation. Hopefully after that I'll have a better understanding of what the heck I'm doing. Probably not though.

Ugh. My ankle hurts from soccer practice. Soccer has been a blessing and death. It's nice cause it gets me out of bed early so I'm semi-used to getting up at 5:30 (haha no I'm not) and I know some high school kids now that I can ask where the heck I'm supposed to be. But it hurts!

I just realized I only posted once in August. Wow I really suck.

I honestly can't promise how frequently I'll be able to post throughout the school year. It will probably be when I'm procrastinating cause I don't want to do my homework. Like I'm doing now..........

Just kidding. All the homework that is due the first day of school is done. I've accomplished something in the past three months.

I've also been kind of obsessed with gifs lately, and instead of just posting them in a list, I decided to be slightly humorous. So, here is how kids handle summer work, as told through gifs.

When your teacher tells you at the end of the school year you have summer work.
But it's summer! You're not supposed to have homework over the summer!

Then they hand out the summer work, and you realize it's so much work.
How am I expected to finish all of this in two and a half months? I have to get started now.

You get home, ready to start your homework to get it done as quickly as possible.
Yes! I'm going to be done by July!

Then this happens.
You get kidnapped by the internet.

By the end of July, you still haven't touched your homework.
The internet hasn't let you out of its grasp.

Your mom asks if you've started your homework.
Um........ no?

At the start of August, part of your brain panics cause you only have a month left.
The rest of your brain tells you to chill. You have plenty of time!

All your friends want to know if you've started that math assignment because they want to compare answers.
Yeah, haven't started yet.

The week before school starts, you really begin to panic.
Crap! I forgot about my summer homework! I haven't even started!

You quickly jump on your computer to frantically write that essay required.
There are so many spelling errors, you make sure to attach a red pen on the paper for the teacher.

You wish you could this:
How else am I supposed to read a 500 page book in a week?

You then realize why your friends asked for help.
We didn't learn this! How am I expected to know how to do this? Oh God, I'm not going to finish.

Your computer begins to lag from all of your frantic typing and searches.
No, this can't be happening!

When you finish an assignment, you feel like a weight was lifted off your shoulders.
One down, 5 more to go!

You're done! You can finally take a sigh of relief.
Thank God I finished! I am never doing this again.

After staying up all night to finish your homework, you crash.
Zzzzzzzz......

You tell yourself you are never waiting to do your homework last minute again. Yeah, that never happens.

FYI: I did exaggerate a ton with this. I did not do this. However, I do know people who waited till the week before school (AKA, now) to do their summer homework. I was smarter than that. Go me!

Happy back to school! Said no student ever.

Random Facts of Uselessness #9

Wow. I haven't posted in forever. Sorry folks. I just got back from my lovely vacation and now I have to go back to school shopping.

WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Holy crudpickles, it's really thundering currently as I'm writing this. As if I haven't gotten enough rain already. Can we please send some rain to California? They desperately need rain out there.

Where was I going with this post? Oh yes, the facts.
  • The strongest human muscle in proportion to its size is the tongue. One tongue curl, two tongue curls... 100!
  • The human heart creates enough pressure when it pumps blood out into the body to squirt blood 30 feet. Who needs water guns when you have your heart?
  • All porcupines float in water. Sorry, nothing witty to say about that. I do have a video of adorable baby hedgehogs sneezing to show you! Not exactly porcupines, but still adorable!

  • Rats and horses can't vomit. Ummm, that's, uh, weird.
  • Human thigh bones are stronger than concrete. I'm sure there are a whole bunch of witty things I could say about that one, but I don't have the patience right now to actually use my brain. Hehe.
By the way, the n, h, y, and u keys on my keyboard sometimes refuse to work. I'm literally left sitting there repeatedly pressing the keys like:

Function. Function. Function. Function. Function. FUNCTION!!!!! I JUST WANT AN H IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK!

Now the j key won't work. KENOFENOWSDNKFJOEANBGSOIALJHABIGKJENPODSHIFK!!!!!!

Little fyi for you. Whenever I talk in jibberish (see above ^) I'm either really excited, or really angry. Guess which one I am right now? >:(

Oh, and sometimes when I view my blog, my photos won't load. Now that's frustrating.

Wow, I have no idea what just happened. Like I started writing this with an idea in mind, and then I just let my thoughts and fingers run wild. It started out good, then it thundered. I then got it back on track just to end me ranting about my stupid keyboard and blog photos. Eh, whatever.

GAH IM SO FRUSTRATED RIGHT NOW!!!!!

I've obsessed with this game called Agar.io. The problem is, it's frustrating me to no end. The point of the game is to eat smaller circles so you can get bigger. You start out really small and fast, and as you get bigger you get slower. And every time I start to get really big, some jerk decides to eat me! IT'S SO FRUSTRATING BUT ITS ADDICTING TOOOOOO!

Basically, if you have a really nice computer, don't play it. Cause you'll want to smash your computer.

Also, some of the names people pick to be are very hurtful and offensive. (I normally stick to Taylor Swift, cause who would want to eat Taylor Swift? Apparently EVERYBODY!) Some of them, on the other hand, are pretty funny. Like "Please don't eat me!" and then I eat them.

What's also really fun is that there is a team mode where you are assigned one of three colors- red, green, or blue. You then try to take over the playing field as a team. So you have allies that can help you not get eaten. (I still end up dying.)

You can also somehow input a skin for your circle, but I don't know how to do that. So don't ask me. I think you have to go through Facebook, but don't quote me on that.

So far my high score is 800-something. Take that! Just kidding, I'm sure you can totally beat me.

So, if you ever find yourself in need of something to do, try Agar.io! It's really fun and addicting. Once again: I would strongly advise you not to play on a nice computer in case you pull a Wreck-it-Ralph.
I'm gonna wreck my computer because this stupid game is frustrating me so much!

Anyway, have fun with Agar.io. Oh, and if you happen to see a Taylor Swift circle, please don't eat it! It's probably me. I'M JUST TRYING TO SURVIVE ON MY OWN!

So...... I'm Valedictorian... (And don't you dare delete my pictures)

Hello!

I found out about this a while ago but I've just been too "busy" (AKA, lazy) to actually type this out. But today I decided to because I don't want to clean my room either.

Anyway, on Monday, I will be graduating from middle school. I also, as the title says, am valedictorian. Was I shocked? Not necessarily. I've always had straight A's, so I always felt I had a shot at being valedictorian. There was one other boy who I thought might win it because he also was on the high honor roll for most of the year. What was really surprising was that boy didn't win salutatorian. My friend did. Not that my friend isn't smart, she is. I just expected it to be the other boy. (Girl power right here: All four years that I've been in middle school, both the valedictorian and salutatorian of the graduating classes were girls.)

The sucky part? I have to write a speech. And say that speech at graduation. Basically my friend and I FaceTimed each other and complained how we didn't want to write the speech to procrastinate actually writing the speech. Ugh.

But, because I'm a nerd, I included Harry Potter quotes in my speech. I also tried to add tiny bits of humor so it's not boring. I really don't think I succeeded, but whatever.

While trying to write my speech, I contacted one of my friends who was valedictorian last year. She told me to remember that my speech should pretty much say, "Whelp, it was fun while it lasted, but I hate you all and good luck with the rest of your lives." I didn't say that, by the way.

The best part of being valedictorian? I hold the power. Since the valedictorian speech is at the end, I am the reason that people can't leave and go home to their nice houses. Basically, you better be nice to me, or I'll just keep rambling on for hours. Hehehehehehehehehehe!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On an unrelated note, I'm annoyed at my high school. They expect us to get our summer homework offline, but don't give us our schedules to know what classes we need to get the homework from. Logic.

Also unrelated: I got really annoyed at someone the other day. He was looking at a picture off my phone. When he gave it back to me, I realized he deleted most of my pictures. He told me he just deleted some useless selfies and pictures. Um, I'm sorry, but my pictures of Taylor Swift are not useless! Then, he had the audacity to say she sucks. >:( Oh my god did I want to kill him. Thank god I have iOS 8 so I can recover deleted pictures. Oh, and I'm sorry, it's my phone, don't you dare delete my pictures. It's one thing if it's a picture of just you, but pictures of me in DC with my friends? Seriously? He's lucky I had to leave, because I would have strangled him. KABJLEFRHKJABKKLHRBJLERGFKHFJEH!

That's my rage right there. I write jibberish when I'm really excited, or really, really, REALLY angry. Guess which one I am right now.

Wow, I ended way off topic. Guess that's what happens sometimes.

Reasons Why I Love Taylor Swift

Good evening kind people of the internet!

Unless you have been living under a rock for the past decade (which is totally fine, I happen to love rocks), you probably know who Taylor Swift is. If you don't, that's fine too! Because I'm about to educate you on the genius that is Taylor Swift, and why I happen to love her so much.

1: Her Music

First of all, there is something to be said about an artist who actually writes their own music. There is also something to be said about someone who pours their entire being into their songs. Taylor Swift actually writes her songs about her own experiences and relationships-- which means her songs are full of emotion and are genuine. Taylor's music tells a story, almost like a poem. The emotion and feelings that Taylor pours into her music really shows through the lyrics, making the songs memorable and inspirational.

And for all of you that are angry that all she does is bash her ex boyfriends and that she should grow up, I would like to argue with you. (Fyi, you're about to lose.) First of all, most of her songs are either about positive relationships, or not about a relationship at all. Even the ones that are slightly negative don't always bash the actual boyfriend. Sometimes her songs are just about how it wasn't working out. Let's take her latest album, 1989, for example.

1. WELCOME TO NEW YORK- Not about a relationship at all.
2. BLANK SPACE- This one talks about a dysfunctional relationship, but it makes fun of Taylor more than it bashes an ex.
3. STYLE- More about a dysfunctional relationship, not about how she hates an ex.
4. OUT OF THE WOODS- Once again, a dysfunctional relationship. This one is positive and Taylor wants this relationship to last.
5. ALL YOU HAD TO DO WAS STAY- This one is probably the one where she "bashes" the boyfriend the most. However, she's not saying she hates him. Taylor is just saying that it's too late for him to win her over.
6. SHAKE IT OFF- Not really about a relationship either. The one mention of an ex-man isn't bashing him. All Taylor is saying is that she is shaking that relationship off and getting over him and the haters.
7. I WISH YOU WOULD- Taylor wants her ex to come back. Not bashing him at all.
8. BAD BLOOD- It sounds like she is bashing a boyfriend, but she has confirmed that it's not about an ex at all. It's about a fellow female singer, rumored to be Katy Perry. So, not about a boyfriend.
9. WILDEST DREAMS- Taylor knows this relationship isn't going to last, but she wants him to remember her and look back on the relationship fondly. She isn't basing him at all.
10. HOW YOU GET THE GIRL- Taylor sings about how to win someone back. No meanness in this song either.
11. THIS LOVE- More about a dysfunctional relationship where the love keeps coming back to her.
12. I KNOW PLACES- Song about how the reporters keep stalking Taylor and ruining her relationships and how Taylor hopes to hide from them.
13. CLEAN- At the end of the relationship, Taylor just has to let him go. Not really bashing him, but just saying it's over, and she has to let him go.
14. WONDERLAND- Dysfunctional relationship. Not bashing at all.
15. YOU ARE IN LOVE- Song about another couple finding out they love each other. No boyfriend-hating here.
16. NEW ROMANTICS- This one I think is about young people who fall in and out of love very quickly. Taylor just sings about how dysfunctional the relationships are. Not mean at all.

Oh, are you telling me that there isn't one song that is a definite "let's hate on my boyfriend" in her new album? Huh.

And if you are going to bring up about her previous albums, the past is in the past. (But if you were, you'd see there are also positive songs on her previous albums too)

Secondly, it's not like writing songs about previous relationships is exclusive to Taylor! Other artists, (Maroon 5, Bruno Mars, Carrie Underwood, Beyonce, P!nk, just to name a few) have written their fair share of boyfriend-bashing music too. No one's hating on them, now are they? Also, would you rather Taylor egg her ex's cars and beat their cars up with golf clubs? No? Then stop the hate. Please.

Do you honestly want this to actually happen?

And if you complain that she has had too many boyfriends, she's 25! Give her a break! She's allowed to live!

2: Her Voice

If you don't think Taylor has an amazing voice, watch this video. Then maybe you will understand.

3: Her Generosity

Taylor has done some amazing things for her fans. First, there was Swiftmas, where Taylor would send personalized Christmas gifts to her fans. Not like merchandise or anything, but actual presents.

Also, she visits fans in the hospital and sings to them. And she hunts down fans to meet them. And she gives the best advice to Swifties. Therefore she is amazing.

4: Her Dancing

Taylor Swift is known for her bad dancing. She will actually be the first one to tell you she can't dance.

The reason why I love it so much is because she's not afraid to let herself loose and dance. She's not afraid to be herself, and she doesn't care what other people think.
Taylor. Please never stop being you.

5: She Reminds Me of My Uncle

I know that sounds really strange, but just hear me out for one second. When I was young, about 7 or 8, I had wild blonde curly hair that was similar to Taylor's when she was younger.
Kind of like that, but a lot less perfect, and a little more brown.

My uncle always used to compare my hair to Taylor's, saying that all I needed was a guitar and I could be Taylor Swift for Halloween. (I'd also need some insanely amazing song writing skills, but close enough). Every single time I saw him, he would say that I looked like her.

He passed away from cancer when I was about 12. Now, even though Taylor cut her hair short, she reminds me of him.

Gosh, I'm getting really teary-eyed just writing this. Side effect of being overly emotional. And I really miss him.

Even if you didn't have an uncle that used to call you Taylor Swift, there are certainly plenty of reasons to love her. And if you don't like her, that's fine too. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. But please, don't hate on her or insult her. Respect her just like you would want your idol to be respected.

On a more happy note, check out this amazing mash-up of Shake it Off by Taylor Swift and All About that Bass. Perfection. (I also really like Meghan Trainor)

Isn't that cool!

Dear Mother Nature,

I don't get you. I seriously don't. Like you have some pretty messed up logic from my perspective. Oh, so you decide to give us snow for Halloween, not give us snow on Christmas so I could only dream of a white Christmas, but then you give us snow in April to make up for it?

Really?

Oh wait, it was your "April Fools" joke because you happen to have an amazing sense of humor. Well guess what? Not funny. Not funny at all. You know the joke has gone too far when you have to wear gloves and a hat to keep warm in April. April for crying out loud! What happened to April showers and May flowers? Cause at this point I will be surprised if weeds are able to grow.

You tell her kid.

But honestly, I just want winter to be over. Today, it was actually nice outside. And when I mean nice, I mean I walked around outside without a coat and didn't freeze to death. (I probably didn't freeze to death because I am so used to frigid temperatures so that anything over 40 degrees feels like 80). The sun was shining and everything! Which is funny, saying that yesterday it was snowing and the sun was no where to be found. What the heck Mother Nature? Make up your mind!

The good news is, the rest of next week doesn't seem so bad temperature wise. You must be in a pretty good mood right now. There is, however, one day where it will get down to 40 degrees, though. Hey, it's in the positives! *eyeroll*

I really can't complain though. You seem to be making things a little warmer. I hope. You better. I'm sick of wearing sweaters. And I have some cute sweaters. HOW COULD YOU MAKE ME HATE SWEATERS MOTHER NATURE! I didn't even think that was possible. But apparently it is.

Just please continue with the nice weather like today for the rest of eternity. I would really appreciate that. Actually, I think the world would appreciate that.

~Jennifer

That is my very nice letter addressed to the one and only Mother Nature. I think she needs therapy.

Just to end on a positive, less-ranty note, here are some hilarious weather memes that I didn't know I needed to see until I went on the internet. Gosh, I love you internet.

This isn't happening now (Thank God) but it did once. Or twice. Or everyday for the past three months.

Fyi, meteorology isn't really an exact science. So that would explain why weather people are always wrong.
I have family in Florida. This makes me very jealous.

This is about the opposite problem than what I've been experiencing, which is probably why I found it so funny.

The Best Bus Ride I Have Ever Experienced in my Entire Life

If you happen to live on the eastern side of the United States, then you may be experiencing some abnormally cold temperatures for the springtime. I for one, am sick of it.

I want spring weather SOOOOOOOO BADLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Like seriously winter. GO AWAY!

Anyway, anyone who has ever ridden a school bus during the winter knows that most of the time, the bus drivers are eskimos. CAUSE THEY DON'T TURN ON THE HEAT! It's not even in the positive digits outside, yet the bus driver does not feel the need to heat up a bus that has been sitting in a parking lot all night in -60 degree weather.

Thanks. I love to have icicles coming down from under my chin when I get to school.

Now I get that some buses probably don't have heat. Then it's okay if the bus is freezing. Or that the heating mechanism is frozen so it doesn't work, because that is highly likely to happen. But if you have the option of putting on even a miniscule amount of heat, that would be greatly appreciated.

(It's the same with my school. Oh, it's -10 degrees outside? Let's put on the air conditioning! *slaps forehead in frustration*)

However, there is one bus driver that deserves a gigantic raise. Like he should make a million bucks for what he did.

One day, when it was in the negatives outside, I got on my bus expecting to step into the antarctic. What I got was heaven. My bus driver had the heat on! It was the best bus ride in my life! I sat toasty warm by myself listening to Taylor Swift for fifteen minutes while I got a free ride to school. I swear it was like 70 degrees on the bus.

Heaven. Pure heaven.

Of course, the school just had to be cold. The administration should learn something from my bus driver, the greatest man on Earth.

Braces... Suck

I recently just got my braces. Finally. It has been a long journey of teeth extractions, devices, and trips to my oral surgeon before I could finally get braces. Well, that day has finally come! Yaaaaaay...........

That was total sarcasm right there by the way.

My teeth are very, very, VERY sore at the moment. I can't eat anything unless it is super duper soft or ice cream. And I have it easy. I only need braces on the bottom, so you can't even tell I have them on. You can only see them if you pull down my lip. However, I also have a spring that is part of the wire that rubs against my lip and causes it to blister. It's very painful and the wax that they give you to soothe the rough edges won't stay on the spring, which means I have to use Orajel. That stuff ends up numbing my entire mouth, so I accidentally end up biting on my tongue. Not fun. Not fun at all.

I'm sure all of you people who have had braces on the top and the bottom think I should shut up and stop complaining about my sore bottom jaw. You would be right. Braces-wise, I have it easy. Except for the fact that I need a chain to pull up a tooth that isn't coming in. Oh, and I've already had oral surgery to remove teeth that were in my sinuses. So yeah. I have it easy.

Plus, mine will be on for most of high school, while most people are getting their braces off around now. I'm fortunate that mine are coming off before I go to college. If I go to college (which will most likely happen). Good thing you can't see them when I smile.

The only positive thing that has come out of me getting braces is that yesterday my lunch consisted of French fries and chocolate ice cream. Yum!

Oh and I got to miss a day of school. That is always exciting.

But I can't eat A THING!!!!! It's really frustrating because I love food. Food is my life. And now the thing that once brought me happiness now brings me pain. Not to mention the fact that I can't eat my favorite candy anymore. No skittles, no starburst, and no milky ways.

I can still eat Reese's peanut butter cups! >:(

Why Being Sick on a Snow Day Stinks

Hello world!

So today my school has another snow day. Which is great. I mean, I love a good snow day. I can sleep until noon, and sit around and be lazy all day. What's not to love?

Except I'm sick. Like I think I have strep sick. But, I can't be sure because I can't go to the doctor today because of the snow. My family only has one 4-wheel drive car, so that's what my dad took to work. The other car can't even get up my driveway! So, I have to wait until tomorrow to go see the doctor.

Which means I have no idea what's wrong with my throat, and I have no medication to soothe it. All I have is allergy medication which works for all of 5 minutes, citrus tea, and cough drops that taste like menthol. Have you ever had a menthol-flavored cough drop? Don't, they are nasty. Really, really nasty. Unfortunately, those are all the cough drops they have, and we can't go out and get more because we can't leave the house.

So basically I've been sitting on my butt all day, drinking tea, eating nasty cough drops, complaining about how my throat hurts, and watching Animal Planet. Because cute kittens and puppies always make life better.
I mean, look at that! I'm going to bop you on your head! BOP! Hehehehehe!!!!!! So cute!
I am actually thinking about taking advice from a cat and a dog and going to sleep. Because sleep is a beautiful thing.

My Very Lovely Day: Fri, Jan 23, 2013

My day today was just great. AKA, my day sucked. First of all, my sister has the stomach bug. I don't want the stomach bug! I love my sister to pieces, but please don't share your germs with me. No one wants to be up all night throwing up. And if you do, you are crazy. Absolutely crazy.

Besides that, math class was boring and confusing. Right at the moment we are learning about triangles and different lines and points in triangles and I can't keep them straight. What the heck is the difference between the orthocenter, centroid, circumcenter, and incenter? And, why the heck do we need to be able to find this stuff anyway? Oh, and actually doing the work and getting really ugly fractions? Forget it. It's not happening.

As usual, my teacher gave me homework. Fun. That right there brings down the rest of my day. 20 questions with parts A, B, and C. Oh, and don't forget part D!

Oh, but wait! It gets worse!

Why I hate Math Textbooks

If you are a student, I can almost guarantee that you hate to do math homework. Unless you are a nerd who loves math. In that case, lucky you! I wish I had enthusiasm and actually wanted to do my math homework. Instead, I dread doing anything that even involves coming anywhere near my Geometry textbook.

(Random Fact: Arithmophobia is the fear of math. 2+2=4!!!!!!)

As usual, my Geometry teacher gave my class homework from the textbook. When I counted the problems, I was happy to see that there were only about 15 problems to do. Remember, I am in geometry, so about 7 or 8 of those problems involved some kind of graphing, which I happen to despise. I hate graphing with a burning passion. However, in comparison to some of the homework I've been given, this was not a lot of homework at all.

When I got home, I began to start my homework. The first 7 or 8 problems were no big deal, even if several of them involved graphing. I was so excited to see that I was almost done with my homework, until I got to some of the application questions.

Why I Hate Insurance Companies

As you may know, I am allergic to the world.  To just highlight some of the long list of allergens I am allergic to, the most serious allergies of mine are:
  • Peanuts
  • Horses
  • Cats
  • AND MANY MORE!!!!!!!!!!!!
Because of these multiple allergies, I have to carry around an EpiPen. I’ve never had to use one, knock on wood, but better be safe than sorry! Plus, the school also has to have one in case of an emergency. On top of that my mom normally carries one as well.
Trust me, there is no shortage of epinephrine at my house.

Anyway, the EpiPens don’t last forever. In about six months, they expire and I have to get three new sets. It just so happened that mine expired at the end of December, so I had to get new ones. My allergist recommended I get the new kind of EpiPen that talks you through what to do to inject the medication. You know, just in case I am unresponsive and I cannot stab myself, someone else knows what to do. It’s a really nice feature to have.

So, my mom went into the pharmacy to get three sets of the new talking EpiPens with the assumption that they would each be approximately $100. She knew that the new talking ones were a little more expensive than the old, non-talking ones, which were $75 a set. She, at the time, thought $75 was outrageous. Boy does she wish she could go back to paying a mere $75.

Why I Hate Allergies

Hello everyone!

Recently I went to the allergist because I had an allergic reaction to who knows what that wasn't going away. I've had allergic reactions before, but they usually went away after I took a Benadryl. Or, if the hives and rash from the reaction were persistent, my doctor would give me a round of prednisone and the rash and symptoms would be gone. But not this time.

Nothing was working. All Benadryl was doing was making me sleepy, and the prednisone would make it go away before promptly coming back. So, my doctors decided that it was time to see an allergist. Joy.

For three days before my visit to the allergist, I couldn't take any antihistamines. Which means no allergy medication. No Benadryl, no Zyrtec, nothing. It was awful. By the time I got to the allergist, I wanted to tear my skin off. Literally. I thought I couldn't be any itchier. Boy was I wrong.

When I finally saw the allergist, he had me scratch tested on my forearms. This is where things get really bad.

I reacted to almost everything, which my made my arms itch and swell like crazy. Even my face started to swell from the scratch test. The worst part was I couldn't touch my forearms for 15 minutes. 15 minutes of wanting to dig my nails into my skin and just rip it off. Not fun.

After those agonizing 15 minutes, my allergist finally came in and read my arms for allergies. The result? I am allergic to:

  • Peanuts. No going nuts for me. Not unless I want to explode into a balloon and tear off my skin.

  • Horses. No majestic riding into the sunset for me. It's so bad I can't even go down the same street as a horse without exploding. Want to go to Dunkin Donuts? Oh no sorry I can't, some guy has a horse-drawn carriage on the same street. It also really sucks because my aunt has a horse and I have actually learned how to ride a horse. I just had to take a Benadryl before and after the lesson and shower the instant I get home.
  • Dogs and cats. And I know what your thinking: Jenn, you have a dog and a cat? Do you have to give them up? The answer is no. My reaction was only mild. It's mild enough that as long as cat hair doesn't get on my face, I'll be fine. Plus, an allergy pill everyday will keep me from experiencing symptoms.

  • Several (and when I say several, I mean at least 8) different types of tree pollen, which are most prominent in the springtime. Looks like I just gained another reason to hate the spring.

  • Several types of mold prominent in the fall. (Sorry there is no picture they were all really nasty and gross.) Guess what? I hate the fall too.

And there is probably more too! The scratch test just tested for environmental things. (We threw the peanuts in there because we already knew I was allergic to peanuts. And we were right.) Now my allergist wants me to get a patch test to test for other things I could be allergic to. And that involves getting stickers on my back for two days. Oh, more joy!

That was total sarcasm by the way.
